What would a personal home page be without a picture or two of the instigator? Yes, the pictures are in need of updating. What isn't?

Amongst my interests are...

Such things as cartoons. I have a few pages regarding Animaniacs fandom, such as the EHAP and a few Animaniacs Related Texts authored by the one known (or once upon a time known) on alt.tv.animaniacs as Odo'sBucket (Lara Little).

Also the Comics Overview of Looney Tunes, or COLT, is a guide to and summary of the recent run of Looney Tunes comics. The COLT is patterned after another work, by Jay Maynard, the Animaniacs Comics Kompendium, or ACK. The ACK is a guide to the Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain comics that were published not that long ago. Alas neither the ACK nor the COLT is yet complete or even up to date.

I get together with other folks on IRC, using the character of Vakkotaur on the #Warnercafe channel of WTnet. Andrew Mutchler, or KinkyTurtle has drawn many of the Warner Cafe characters, as well as good many other things. Check out his cartoon diaries of his trips. It's almost as good as being there. In some case, maybe better! Another character of mine started as a bit of a joke but the joke has taken on a life of its own. OrvanOx, who delivers ACME products (usually exploding pies or such, to end KinkyTurtle's attempted singing), was snookered into appearding on ACME's beefcake calendar. The artwork for the calendar is by Kristi Russell, who appears on #Warnercafe as VeryPinkyGirl.

Some weekends I can be found at renaissance faires. Mainly the one in Minnesota, but also many of those in Iowa as they are the closest, though I have managed to attend a couple in Texas.

Here are a few links...

Google is easily the best search engine site around. No flashy splash, just a get-the-job-done page. A welcome change from silly "portal" sites that are all flash and no bang.

Mr. Cranky reviews movies without pretense of actually liking them. Check this site out each Friday with the new releases getting reviewed... or is that skewered?

The Internet Movie DataBase is generally less caustic in review and has more detailed information for proper research of titles.

Tiny Apps has small (1.44 MB or less) programs for Windows 95/98/Me/NT4/2000/XP. By using things found here rather than bloatware, you can make a machine seem as fast it really ought to be. If nothing else, check out the email client named Popcorn. It's small, fast, and not susceptible to the Microsoft exploits that OutLook falls to every couple weeks.

Want to set up a dedicate firewall box between the internet and your desktop machine or network? Check out SmoothWall. Once you get an install CD the setup is fairly simple and when running, it can be administered over a local web browser. That includes installing update patches and rebooting the system, the odd times such things are called for. I run my SmoothWall box "headless" -- no keyboard, mouse, or monitor. And I could remove the floppy drive as well, as the install CD is bootable, and there's no need for the floppy...

If you're still stuck using Windows 3.x you can at least upgrade the shell to a more modern interface with Calmira and if you need DOS there is FreeDOS available for the downloading.
